An Annual Art Contest for Kids!
Each year, Lions clubs around the world proudly sponsor the Lions International Peace Poster Contest in local schools and youth groups. This art contest for kids encourages young people worldwide to express their visions of peace. For 25 years, more than four million children from nearly 100 countries have participated in the contest.
“Peace Through Service” is the theme of the 2020-2021 Peace Poster Contest. Creating peace posters gives children everywhere the chance to express their visions of peace and inspire the world through art and creativity. This art contest is for children 11, 12 or 13 years of age on November 15, 2020. District 4-A1’s 2020-2021 Peace Poster winner will receive a monetary prize of $100 and move on to the MD-4 Peace Poster Contest.
Ordering Peace Poster Contest Kits:
Lions clubs interested in sponsoring the Lions International Peace Poster Contest can order a Peace Poster Contest kit (PPK-1) from the Club Supplies Sales Department at International Headquarters. The cost of the kit is $11.95 plus shipping, handling, and applicable taxes. One kit is needed for each entry sponsored. Each kit contains complete rules, promotional material, and recognition certificates for participants.

Please review contest rules and order kits as soon as possible to guarantee sufficient time for a well-planned contest. Please allow 3- 4 weeks for delivery.
LCI Essay Contest
“Peace Through Service” is the theme of the 2020-2021 Essay Contest. The contest is open to students who are considered visually-impaired according to their national guidelines and will be 11, 12 or 13 years of age on November 15, 2020. District 4-A1’s 2020-2021 Essay Contest winner will receive a monetary prize of $100 and move on to the MD-4 Essay Contest.
Essays must be no longer than 500 words in length, submitted in English, type-written in black ink, and double-spaced. Each essay must be submitted with a completed entry form. Essays submitted without completed entry forms will be automatically disqualified. To learn more about the Lions International Essay Contest, please contact Lions Clubs International Public Relations Division or email email@example.com. The words “Lions Essay Contest” must appear in the subject line of the email.
Our District 4-A1 Peace Poster and Essay Contest deadline will be the date of the Fall District Meeting, October 31st. All posters and essays must be submitted by 11:00 a.m. on or before this date to be included in the judging by the District Governor and committee. No late entries will be accepted.
If the District Meeting is held virtually due to state and/or local meeting restrictions related to the corona virus, posters must be delivered via postal mail or hand-delivered to the Contest Chair by midnight, October 30th.
