Backpacks for Kids and Victims distributes backpacks or similar cases to children and adults in need. These individuals may be in the foster care system, homeless, sex-trafficked victim, or identified as in need by a local school or other non-profit. Many times, these individuals do not have anything in which to carry their personal items.
This project promotes self-esteem and pride of ownership for these individuals. It may provide simple comfort. Backpacks are filled with items identified by the school or non-profit, and may include, but are not limited to: school supplies, toiletries, toothbrush and toothpaste, comb/brush, stuffed animal, etc. Backpacks may be donated to schools, women’s centers, court-ordered facilities for children non-profits serving homeless families and children, sex-trafficked victims, and others as identified by your community.
